About Primo Art

Don Pascua is a Manila-based artist known for his finesse in straight-edge papercutting. He generally uses Matboard as his preferred surface choice when using acrylic and aerosol paints. On certain occasions, he also works with industrial materials such as epoxy resin.

While his style may appear simple at first glance, his unique process is far more complex than it looks. Don’s process begins with laying out the design on the matboards, carefully cutting it with expert precision, and then arranging the patterns into the proper positions to create a remarkably stunning masterpiece. Don has created art like this for years and now his experience and discipline are what helps him put together amazing works of art that beautifully showcase the unique relationship between light and shadow. Aside from the visual components of his work, Don's collections can be also experienced by using one's sense of touch due to their layered characteristics.

He is a graduate of BS Interior Design at the University of Santo Tomas, Manila, Philippines. After receiving his degree he began working as a Technical Assistant in an Interior Design firm, However, his passion for creating art caused his mind to be elsewhere. It didn’t take long for him to devote himself to art independently, which led to him becoming a very skilled and talented artist.
